The Ranger gets an EPA rating of 22 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway, with a fuel tank capacity of 17 gallons and takes unleaded fuel. The Ranger also has a multi point injection fuel system. Some other performance and handling features include ABS, four disc brakes including two ventilated discs, electronic brake distribution, electronic traction control by ABS and engine management. The Ranger also has immobilizer, space saver steel rim spar wheel, stability control and wish bone front suspension independent with stabilizer bar and coil springs and beam rear suspension rigid with leaf springs. The new 2011 Ford Ranger at Ford Ranger Wayne, now comes with several great exterior features. These features include black front and rear bumpers, driver and passenger externally adjustable black door mirrors and complex surface lens with halogen bulb head lights. Some other great exterior features include luxury trim alloy look on dashboard, metallic paint, straight side pick up bed, fixed rear window and windshield wipers with variable intermittent wipers. As for the interior features, these are also great. Some of these features include 12 volt power outlet, air conditioning, front ash tray, audio system with AM/FM, front seat cigar lighter, clock and courtesy light. Along with that, the Ranger comes with front seats cup holders, floor covering, vinyl seat upholstery with additional vinyl, two speakers, tachometer and ventilation system.

The new 2011 Ranger also comes with some great safety features. Some of these features include driver front airbag with multi stage deployment, passenger front airbag with occupant sensors and multi stage deployment. Along with that, the Ranger comes with height adjustable three point reel front seat belts on driver seat with pretensioners, height adjustable three point reel front seat belts on passenger seat with pretensioners, lap static front seat belts on center seat. Other safety features include two height adjustable head restraints on front seats, a low tire pressure monitor system, front side airbags and tachometer.

The most fuel efficient truck of 2010 is the Ford Ranger!  This honor only applies to the 2.3 liter four cylinder engine, but still, that is some pretty impressive fuel economy ratings.  If drivers opt for the more powerful V6 engine then they might want to upgrade to the Ford F-150 because you are going to get about the same fuel economy as a F-150 with a V8 engine!  Both models get an anticipated 15 mpg around town and 21 mpg on the highway.

Second on the list was another compact truck, the Toyota Tacoma.  Buyers might be drawn away from the Ford Ranger because the Tacoma still gives you 20 mpg city and 26 mpg highway but has a lower price by a few thousand dollars.  Depending on how long someone plans on keeping their truck will be a big deciding factor as to which compact truck they choose.

The 2010 Ford Explorer Sport Trac came in at 6th place on the Environmental Protection Agency’s list of fuel efficient trucks.  With fuel estimations of 15 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway, the convenience and versatility of the V6 Sport Trac makes it popular among young families who need a roomy backseat and towing capabilities.

When it comes to all things trucks, Ford is very well-know for their F-150 inventory that has won the hearts of most truck-oriented automotive consumers. They have created both the F-series as well as the Ford Ranger to best suit the needs that their loyal trucking customers so dutifully set for the automaker. While the all new 2010 Ford Ranger may not be all that most people hoped for, it has hit home with a few nice features that almost any car consumer can grow to appreciate.

The great thing about the Ford Ranger series almost always seems to come with the low price tag it has within it’s class. Yet not only does it dominate the field of pricing, but it also stays a lower-maintenance vehicle which helps lower the projected operating and maintenance costs. However, while some may be able to appreciate these great perks to the vehicle, it cannot be ignored that it has been ranked 7 out of 8 in compact pick-up trucks and it does have it’s own negatives about it that keeps it from flourishing on North Carolina dealership lots.

These flaws may be overlooked by most, but when it comes to unimpressive engines, an uncomfortable interior, and a dated design it does seem kind of hard to ignore the little things that may become big drawbacks in a buyer’s market. However, these features may just be unpopular enough to send this Ford model reeling back into Ford’s vault where it may belong. After a series with as much success as the F-series it may be the best decision to discontinue the model–which is what Ford has decided to do–after the all new 2010 model.

Perhaps the Ford Ranger will be seen as a more of a rare treasure as opposed to a burdened model after all!

With that being said, it is not much of a mystery that the Ford Ranger has gotten a bit of its chance to show off just what it can do which has been something of scarce chance thanks to trucks like Ford F-150’s and Chevy Silverado’s.

Of course, it is not that there has been any problems with the Ford Ranger or any reason why it should be left behind in the automotive consumer market. However, it is not a secret that class, style, and more luxurious attributes with a truck do not come with the Ford Ranger. The Ford Ranger is used as an affordable option mostly for light hauling and towing, that help the average working-man get through his day-to-day work. About the only thing the Ford Ranger has going for it is its low price within the class and low projected operating costs which is enough to help and not burden its occupants.

Yet on a more unimpressive note critics have not missed the Ford Ranger’s faults. Most of which being its unimpressive engines, and dated and uncomfortable design both inside and out.

Think this truck is right for you? As long as you can see past it’s faults and tune into it’s silver-yet-loyal lining perhaps the 2011 Ford Ranger could be of use to you.
