Like most of the Ford line up in terms of trucks, there were plenty of trim levels to choose from with the Excursion.  The base model still came with a lengthy list of standard features, including cruise control, full power accessories, air conditioning, and a CD player.  You could upgrade to some of the higher trim levels if you wanted heated front seats, adjustable pedals, audio controls in the back seat, and an upgraded sound system.  There were options such as DVD entertainment or a six disc CD changer.  You have to remember that the last Excursion was manufactured in 2005, so Sync and in-dash navigation and Bluetooth were not yet on the market.

Out of all the time levels, only the XLS and the XLT were able to carry nine passengers.  The rest of the line up featured captain’s chairs in the front row, reducing the total passenger capacity to eight.  When you folded down the back two rows you were able to have 146.4 cubic feet of cargo room, which is the most to be offered in any full sized SUV.  Drivers so far have loved the spacious interior and overall design but wish their fuel economy was better; the average hovers around 12 mpg.

If improved with hydraulic body mounts, the ride quality in the crew cab and extended cab models would have much better quality ratings. The Ford F-350 is the third version of Fords heavy duty pick-up trucks in the last four years and the second version since Ford reworked the ruck for the 2008 model year. Fords changes are critical to keeping it locked on the heavy duty segment where the F-250 three quarter ton and F-350 one-ton trucks rule the rest with 50 percent market share. Ford F-450 1.5 ton continues in a segment that it owns but with several major revisions.  These heavy duty pick up trucks exist to tow and haul the heaviest loads. the 6.7 liter power stroke diesel will be the power pulling leader of the 2011 super duty line up. Two other gas engines will be available for the F-250 through the F-550 pick ups and commercial chassis cabs.

The 2011 Ford F450 is a rugged, super truck that leaves it’s competitors in the dust.  Some compare it to the Escalade EXT, but with a $10K plus price difference, the Ford is more appealing to some.  Escalade owners looking for service can go to any Cadillac Service center.   You may be able to find used Escalades and Ford trucks anywhere that sells Missouri Used cars.

There’s also a new gasoline engine option available on the 2011 Ford Super Duty F450: a 6.2L V8 that delivers more horsepower and torque than its predecessor. It also performs better at the fuel pumps. It breathes easily through large intake and exhaust valves and features a SOHC (single overhead cam) valvetrain equipped with rocker-roller shafts. 2 separate sparks plugs for each cylinder burn the air/fuel mixtures found inside the combustion chambers optimally. Fuel efficiency is enhanced and torque ratings are increased. The ride quality is stable and smooth. This high-tech engine is also able to learn and self-implement optimal timing settings. It also avoids overheating by squirting oil on the underside of the piston heads, keeping them cool in even the most extreme driving conditions.

And there still more big news concerning the Ford F450 Super Duty 2011 pickup. It’s the all new TorqShift 6R140 heavy duty 6-speed automatic gearbox. It has been especially designed to increase fuel economy, torque and horsepower to the ground. New architecture features produce slower clutch speeds and therefore lessened drag losses. Its innovatively designed to optimize levels of fluids by reducing the churning effect. The result is excellent lubrication and smooth, efficient operation. It also makes the new F450 the first super duty vehicle to offer Live Drive PTO (power take off) technologies. Its powerful and ready to perform insanely-taxing duties including salt spreading, snow plowing and much more.

Ford Motor Company has built an extremely wide variety of vehicles since its start in 1903 so it was pretty hard to compile a list of the 10 best Ford vehicles. Some of these vehicles you definitely won’t see while visiting your Cincinnati Ford Dealer because well, they aren’t manufactured. The best is judged upon if the vehicles earned a real advance in terms of engineering, design, capability, or acceptance.

1. We start off with the Model-T. It was produced from 1908 to 1927 and more than 16,500,000 were sold. Ford made it America’s first affordable car and opened the country for travel.

2. The Model A which was introduced in 1927 became very popular and was sold in a great number of body styles for a price that was between $385 – $570 and whose top speed was around 60 mph and the fuel economy was about 40 mpg.

3. The Thunderbird came about in 1955 as a response to the Corvette. This still remains a great classic since it was one of the first sporty personal luxury cars.

4. Ford shocked the sports-car world in 1966 by racing in the Le Mans with a GT40 which broke Ferrari’s string of championships. Eventually Cincinnati Ford Dealers began selling street-able versions of it.

5. In the ’60s the fierce Shelby Cobras were born. Ford definitely can take credit for the engine and drive-train of one of the world’s best sports cars.

6. After quite a few years the 1992 Taurus SHO emerged. A former owner said, “It’s great, police don’t notice, insurance and taxes are almost nothing!”

7. The 2010 Fusion Hybrid. This vehicle has won all kinds of awards because it has responsive handling, it’s fun to drive, and is available in a lot of configurations.  This car is a state of the art hybrid and it’s reasonably price and has pretty good fuel economy.

8. The 2010 F-150, F-150s have been traversing the roadways since 1975 and is pretty much the best-loved truck in America. There is a lot of competition but Ford seems to outdo its rivals in most departments. Since 1948, the F-Series has sold over 30,000,000 vehicles which makes it the second-biggest seller of all time, Corolla being the first.

9. The 2011 Ford Mustang is a real improvement. Now with much better handling and performance, the 2011 offers new powertrains to keep its competitors hopping. The GT version is even hotter.

and finally…

10. The 2011 Ford Fiesta, this vehicle has outsold the VW Golf and has become the best-selling car in Europe. And there’s a few simple reasons for that too. It’s a very good small car now in its sixth generation, it performs well, comes in a variety of configurations, starts at just $13,320, and is coming to take over the U.S. this summer.
